Frequently Asked Questions
About the tool
How often is the dashboard updated?
The dashboard is updated twice daily — once in the morning and once in the afternoon, covering fixtures for the next 48 hours. The latest scan time is shown at the top of the dashboard.
How do I use the dashboard to place a bet?
Find a pick you want to act on. Note the backed team, back odds, and lay odds. Place your back bet at Bet365 or Paddy Power for the displayed stake. Then place your lay bet at your chosen exchange (Betfair or Smarkets) using the lay odds shown. The qualifying loss shown assumes the 2UP does not trigger — if it does trigger and the match reverses, you make the 2UP profit shown.
What is a Selected pick?
Selected is the highest confidence tier — opportunities where the algorithm's signal score and expected value are both strong. Marginal picks have positive expected value but weaker signals. Speculative picks are shown for reference but carry higher uncertainty.
Which picks should I bet on?
We recommend only betting on Selected picks. Marginal and Speculative are visible for transparency and to support ongoing calibration of the algorithm — the track record covers Selected picks only so you can evaluate performance clearly.
Why are there no picks today?
The algorithm applies a pre-filter based on Asian Handicap line and goals market before scoring. On some days, no fixtures pass the filter — this is by design. Showing weak opportunities would reduce long-run profitability.
Why does my qualifying loss differ from what the dashboard shows?
The dashboard calculates qualifying loss based on the odds at scan time. Odds move between the scan and when you place your bet. If you are using a different stake, commission rate, or getting slightly different odds, use the toggle controls on the dashboard to adjust.
Can I use this with bookmakers other than Bet365?
The dashboard shows Bet365 back odds as the primary source, with Paddy Power as a fallback for lower leagues. Both bookmakers offer the 2UP promotion. If your odds differ slightly from what is shown, the qualifying loss and 2UP profit will differ proportionally — the opportunity is still valid.
Can I use this with exchanges other than Betfair?
Yes. The lay odds shown are sourced from Smarkets. Betfair is also widely used. Check both exchanges for the best lay price before placing.
What stake should I use?
The dashboard defaults to £10 and £100 stake views. Most matched bettors start with £10-£25 per bet while learning the process, then scale up once comfortable. Never stake more than you are happy to have tied up until the match finishes.
How do I know the picks were logged before kickoff?
Every pick on the results page shows a logged timestamp. The scan runs twice daily and all picks are timestamped automatically at scan time — no manual entry, no backdating.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet. The dashboard is mobile-optimised and works well in a browser on iOS and Android. A dedicated app may follow after the beta.
About 2UP matched betting
What is the 2UP promotion?
The 2UP promotion pays out your back bet early if the team you backed goes two goals ahead at any point during the match, regardless of the final score. If your team goes 2-0 up and then loses 3-2, you still get paid out. This creates a matched betting opportunity because your lay bet can also win if the lead is overturned.
Which bookmakers offer 2UP?
Bet365 and Paddy Power both offer 2UP promotions on qualifying matches. Availability varies by match and league — not every fixture qualifies. Always check the promotion terms before placing.
Does 2UP apply to every match?
No. Bookmakers select which matches qualify for the 2UP promotion. The dashboard only shows fixtures where 2UP is available and where the algorithm finds value.
What happens if I cash out?
Do not cash out your back bet if you are running a matched bet. Cashing out cancels the back bet and breaks the matched position — your lay bet remains open with full liability. Always let the matched bet run.
Can I use this for greening up?
The dashboard is designed for the pre-match double trigger strategy, not in-play greening up. Greening up (laying the draw or adjusting the lay mid-match) is a separate technique with different EV characteristics and is not covered here.
About the algorithm
How does the algorithm work?
The algorithm ranks fixtures by estimating how likely they are to produce the double trigger outcome (backed team goes 2 up, then fails to win). It combines market data and historical validation to prioritise higher-quality opportunities while filtering out weaker ones.
Why is my team not on the dashboard?
Either the fixture is not in a qualifying competition, the bookmaker has not made the 2UP promotion available for that match, or the opportunity did not pass the pre-filter (Asian Handicap line and goals market thresholds). Fixtures that fail the pre-filter are excluded entirely.
Why do underdogs appear more than favourites?
This is intentional and empirically grounded. The double trigger requires the backed team to go 2 up and then concede — which is far more likely when the backed team is an underdog or evenly matched. Heavy favourites rarely give up a 2-goal lead, so they almost never produce double triggers even when they do go 2 up. The algorithm reflects this.
How accurate is the algorithm?
The signal model was validated across 17,564 matches over 5 seasons and 9 leagues, confirming 623 double triggers. Live accuracy is tracked on the results page from day one — every pick is logged at scan time with a timestamp, and outcomes are recorded automatically after each match.
What does the track record show?
The results page shows every pick the algorithm has made since launch, the signal tier, the expected value at scan time, and the actual outcome. Running P&L is calculated at the default stake. No picks are omitted — wins and losses are both shown.
About the beta and pricing
Is this really free?
Yes, fully free during the beta. No credit card required, no trial period. Access the dashboard and results page without any payment.
How long will the beta last?
We have not set a fixed end date for the beta. Subscribers will receive advance notice before any paid tier is introduced, and founding members will be offered a reduced rate.
Will my data be safe?
The site does not currently require an account or collect personal data beyond what is standard for any web visit (server logs, analytics). When subscriptions launch, data handling will be covered in a full privacy policy.
How do I cancel when it goes paid?
Cancellation will be self-serve with no notice period required. Details will be confirmed when subscriptions launch.
About gubbing
Will using this tool get me gubbed?
Gubbing risk is real for any matched betting activity. 2UP is generally considered lower risk than arbing because you always need an outcome to happen — you are not exploiting a pure price discrepancy. That said, consistently hitting promotions will draw attention over time. Spreading activity across multiple bookmakers and not exclusively targeting promotional matches helps.
How many bets should I place per week?
There is no universal answer. Most experienced matched bettors place a mix of promotional and regular bets to maintain a normal-looking betting pattern. Placing only promotional bets is a known gubbing accelerant. Use your judgement based on your account history with each bookmaker.
